Hey groovy friends! Today was not what I planned. Got a text around noon that a good friend of mine is sick and needs a sub tonight. Always happy to help if I can so now my plans for the day have been decided for me.

Started listening to the tunes immediately... lots of original music that i haven't played previously and i want to make sure I'm prepared. Subbing is a whole different thing than being the "regular". I take pride in making sure I'm comfortable and able to play the tunes at a high level and not be a distraction to the other players.

So my afternoon I went down to my studio and started digging in! 2 hours went by like nothing! Was great to have something like this to dig in on and find heavy focus.

And then there's the matter of selecting the correct drums which need to be tuned for the music and the room. All good things to think about. So I arrived at the club nice and early, got a fantastic parking space(no easy feat), and I'm setup, tuned, and ready to go. Took a little walk around town to get the blood flowing and now it's time to go hit it! 🥁
